Preparation guideYour media day is scheduled
Your home is prepared. Here is exactly what happens when your representative and the media team arrive—so you, your family, and your pets can have a calm, easy day.
Your representative arrives before the media team and guides the handoff.
Before the cameras arrive
The media team works on a tight schedule. Your representative arrives first, completes the walkthrough, and makes sure the property is ready before the scheduled appointment time.

This happens before the media team arrives.Lights are turned on, blinds and curtains are opened, small missed items are put away, and final presentation adjustments are made.
You can head out once the handoff is underway.By the scheduled appointment time, homeowners, children, and pets are safely off-site and the media team can begin promptly.

What each camera is doing
Your package may include some or all of the following. Each format has a different job and may be captured in a different order.
Still photography
The photographer works room by room, often taking several exposures from more than one angle. They may make small styling adjustments to improve sightlines and composition.
Cinematic video
Video requires quiet, clear pathways and uninterrupted movement through the home. The camera may pass through the same space several times to capture the cleanest sequence.
Matterport
A stationary camera is moved in small steps through the home. At each position, it rotates to scan the entire space and connect it into an immersive digital tour.
Drone
When conditions and regulations allow, aerial photos and video show the lot, setting, nearby features, and neighbourhood perspective that ground-level media cannot.
If the forecast changes
Interiors can often proceed while exterior and drone work shifts around the weather. Do not cancel or reschedule on your own. Your Vidal & Co. team will confirm any change and arrange a return visit if one is needed.
Quick answers
These are the practical appointment-day answers. If your situation is different, let your representative know before the team arrives.
Ask your Vidal & Co. team →Yes. Your Vidal & Co. representative will arrive ahead of the scheduled appointment to complete the final walkthrough and guide the handoff. You do not need to leave a fixed number of minutes early, but the home must be free and clear of homeowners, children, and pets by the time the media team arrives. If someone must remain, tell your representative in advance so a workable plan can be arranged.
Interior photography and scanning can often continue. Exterior photos, video, and drone work may be delayed, rescheduled, or completed during a break in the weather. High wind, rain, snow, poor visibility, and unsafe conditions can ground a drone. Your team will contact you if the plan changes—there is no need to make the call yourself.
The best option is safely off-site with you, a friend, family member, daycare, or a walker for the full appointment window. Crating a pet in the home is not ideal because every room may need to be captured and equipment can be unfamiliar or stressful. If off-site care is impossible, let us know in advance so we can agree on one secure, non-photographed area.
Most appointments take roughly 90 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the size of the property and the media package. Large homes, detailed video, Matterport, twilight, or complex exterior coverage can take longer. Use the scheduled appointment details from your Vidal & Co. representative as the source of truth.
There is no fixed order. The team may begin inside or outside and may alternate between photography, video, Matterport, floor plans, and drone work to make the best use of light, weather, and access. The planned media package—not the order—is what guides the appointment.
Your representative completes the final pass before the media team arrives: turning on lights, opening blinds and curtains, tucking away missed items, and making small presentation adjustments. The media team may also straighten or shift a small item for a shot. Neither team can complete major cleaning, decluttering, furniture moving, or styling during the appointment.
Possibly. Matterport and floor-plan work may require access to more spaces than still photography does. Keep doors unlocked and pathways clear unless your Vidal & Co. representative has confirmed that a room or storage area will be excluded.
Wait until your Vidal & Co. representative confirms that the media team has finished and the property is ready for your return. The schedule can shift slightly while the team completes a final room, exterior sequence, scan, or weather-dependent drone work.
We will take it from here
